What are cookies and how are they used?
Cookies are small strings of text exchanged between a web server and the web customer. Nexi uses the following types of cookies:
1. Session cookies
Nexi uses its own session cookies, essential for browsing the company website and for allowing features, such as authentication, validation, management of a browsing session, and for preventing scams.
2. Technical cookies
Nexi uses performance or technical or analytics cookies, which do not require user consent, for statistical purposes regarding access to the website pages and for offering you a faster and more secure digital experience, for example, allowing you to maintain connection to protected areas active during browsing the website pages; in protected mode, for storing your UserID and Password; customising the homepage or identifying the pages of the website you have visited, so that they are not displayed again.
The web pages may also contain special images which allow determining whether a certain page has been displayed or not and, if yes, to count the number of users that have displayed the same page..
In addition, Nexi uses a number of technical cookies or third-party analytics cookies for enhancing your browsing experience, such as:
- Google Analytics
- WebTrends
- YouTube
- IoSi Viaggi

Nexi does not allow a third party to use cookies for purposes other than those listed above.
Specifically, the Google Analytics system is a web-analytics service provided by Google Inc. ("Google"). Google Analytics, as other systems, uses "cookies", which are text files that are stored on your computer, to help the website analyse how users use the website.
You may in any case refuse the use of cookies by selecting the appropriate settings on your browser but this may prevent you from using all the features of the website.
3. Advertising or Profiling cookies
Advertising profiling cookies are used to collect information about your browsing habits with the aim of offering the most relevant advertisements matching your interests. This means that they are also used to limit the number of times you see a particular advertisement, and more effective communication means you receive less intrusive advertising which is closer to your preferences.
Nexi also uses third-party cookies (promotional or targeting Cookies) for enhancing the overall user experience on its website. These cookies, managed by third-party companies, are:

If you do not give your consent to profiling cookies, this will not prevent you from browsing the website.
4. Cookie life
A number of cookies (session cookies) remain active only until you close your browser or logout. Other cookies are still "logged" when the browser is closed and are available for future visits by the user. These cookies are known as "persistent cookies" and their life is set by the server when they are created. In some cases, an expiry date is set, in other cases life is unlimited.
5. Managing cookies in your browser
Most web browsers are initially set to accept cookies automatically. This means that you may, at any time, set your browser to accept all cookies, only some, or to reject them, disabling their use by websites. In addition, you can normally set the preferences on your browser so that you are notified whenever a cookie is stored on your computer. At the end of each browsing session, finally, you can delete collected cookies from your device´s hard drive.
If you want to delete cookies installed in your browser´s cookies folder, please note that each browser has different procedures for managing settings.
